What is Project Learning Tree (PLT)?

PLT is an award-winning, national environmental education program designed for educators working with youth from Pre-Kindergarten to grade 12.PLT is a source of interdisciplinary instructional activities and offers professional development training for teachers, pre-service teachers and other educators. Project Learning Tree's curriculum and activities help to increase students' awareness and knowledge of the world around them, as well as their place within it. Students learn to use critical and creative thinking skills, develop informed decisions on environmental issues, and gain confidence to take responsible action on behalf of the environment. For more information about PLT and the curriculum guides visit www.plt.org.

During the workshop …

You will become acquainted with PLT’s Pre-K to 8th grade activities, meet and share ideas with other Calvin students with similar interests and natural resource professionals, and learn more about the environment while expanding your teaching skills.

More Reasons Why You Should Attend the Workshop

  • Receive an amazing curriculum and the latest nature based materials to use with future students
  • Leave the workshop inspired and more knowledgeable about God’s Creation and how to share its wonders with children
  • Certification looks great on your resume, especially if you are considering a career in elementary education, recreation, environmental education or interpretation

Project Learning Tree® is the environmental education program of the American Forest Foundation and sponsored in Michigan by the Department of Natural Resources.
